Obama’s “Enemies” List
Enough of this nonsense already over the Department of Homeland Security’s assessment of the potential for violent hate groups to make a resurgence. It is sensible for law enforcement to be dilligent in considering potential threats where ever they may lurk. It’s just too darn bad that some extreme rightists have been and could continue to be a threat to the nation and its citizens, just as have left wing nuts and other extremists. And former soldiers have done some very bad deeds. Timothy McVeigh was a gulf war veteran. Even sniper John Muhammad was a veteran. Still, Janet Napolitano and the FBI itself say veterans and conservatives aren’t being “profiled.”
And to everyone hollering about surveillance of Tea Party attendees (which didn’t happen anywhere that I have seen) I say: where were you freedom lovers when anti-war marches were regularly video taped by police during the last administration.
And Obama certainly takes all types of terrorism seriously as evidenced by his focus on Afghanistan.

This is why I come Here, to balance the viewpoints or I really begin to worry for the sanity of the community lol. I thought it was getting ugly when they were in power, but as a powerless minority you’re really seeing an ugly side to them. At first, they’re selfish smug arrogant downtrodding superioristic naive callous. But now, whining accusative paranoid threatening immature delusional.
No improvement.
You just can’t win with this bunch.
The more they think they’re being persecuted, the more likely it’ll be for someone to take it a little too far “in the name of the cause”.
I think it’s the responsible thing for those that the new minority follows to start leading in a more rational way than inciting partisanship and opposition everywhere they appear. Another good idea is for those on either party to distance themselves from dangerous firebrands and loose cannons with inflated views of self, they’ll serve us no good in the long run, they don’t have our best interests at heart. It’s not civil war revolution time sheesh, we’ve got America back now, let’s start using it responsibly.

Just another thought, I find it an interesting contrast on how those who had no problem with being wiretapped and having their personal information given to whoever for supposedly real legal purposes in the name of security didn’t take That personally. We were ALL being profiled then, that seems a much more paranoid move than simply looking into those We Know hate this administration, insulting and inciting in a way that does seem to need some watching.

BC, you are ignoring a really inconvenient fact or ten. First off, conservatives aren’t a minority in the country, they tend to get less worked up about things but this country is still fairly conservative. Go to anyplace where you don’t have an ocean for about 100 miles and you’ll understand. There are about 15% of folks like you and Joe who are on the left, about 15% of folks who are on the right, then there is the rest of the Country and I hate to break it to you but they are pretty conservative. You say “we’ve got America back, lets start using it responsibly”, well I consider many things that the current Administration and Congress are doing to be as far from responsible as responsible gets, particularly on budgetary matters and on the protection of this country.
Now…wiretaps, which the left went crazy over.
Yes they DID wiretap people (and I hate to break it to you but they still do as far as I know). I for one don’t mind it one bit. Why? Because the folks doing it are looking for foreign enemies who have repeatedly said they want to attack and kill U.S. citizens and have successfully done so. IF somebody wants to wiretap me talking to a supplier in England about a product, go right ahead, it is going to be pretty boring stuff.
Here is the crux of the difference…
The wire taps weren’t targeting a specific political sector and they were not targeting United States Citizens, everybody was equally open to be listened to. Did this lead to preventing more attacks on our citizens?
The difference with the current administration’s “HomeLand Security” department report and assessment is that the department has turned inwards to look for enemies. They are profiling citizens of the country and not foreign terrorists. You want a bunch of ultra right wing uber conservatives to hate, try Muslim extremists. These are people that that cut off the heads of your fellow citizens, ran airliners into buildings (planned during the last Democratic administration might I add) and blow people up on a regular basis. They are so far right that they make Pat Roberts look like a Pot Smoking Berkeley Hippie. Are we looking for them? Heck yeah, but now we are also looking inwards at the American citizen who might have a right leaning tendency. That is why folks are upset. What do you think would have happened if the Bush administration had come out with a list that said that anybody with an a Kerry or Gore bumpersticker or anybody who served in the Peace Corps would be watched? The furor that would have created would have been beyond immense.
As for “inciting”…hmmm, seems to me that in all the Tea Parties held by hundreds of thousands of those radical right wing Obama haters, there wasn’t a single instance of violence. Come to think of it, I can’t actually remember a violent or confrontational conservative protest…ever. Violence at a left wing protest? Plenty. G20 protest, RNC Convention protest, St. Paul, Oakland, Seattle…violence. Face it, conservatives rarely protest, they are usually too busy working (sorry, just HAD to put that in there!) to protest. That is what has the left so up in arms about the Tea Parties…the normally quiet middle of the road is ticked off and they are starting to get vocal about it.
Look, nobody argues that extremists on both sides, either racist white supremacists or ELF Ecoterrorists should be watched. They are kooks. But to profile somebody just because they have a Ron Paul Bumper sticker or are ex military? That is the wrong direction Janet.
Now, as for Obama taking Terrorism “seriously”, you have GOT to be joking! If he really took it seriously, would he have gone against literally EVERY intelligence person, both current and former and released the documents on interrogation which every single expert and leader, including the ones in his cabinet said was a dangerous thing to do? That doesn’t sound like somebody who is really serious about terrorism or protecting the citizens of this country to me. It sounds like somebody who pays lip service but is more interested in his political image with left wing organizers than he is in taking the advice of the professionals who are charged with gathering intelligence to protect this country and who have more experience in foreign terrorism and policy in their little finger than Obama has. I think we have a maverick in the office and unfortunately we elected the wrong one.
April 23rd, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Extremists on both sides poorly represent both yes, but here’s a difference for you.
The Left’s said for 8 years, we may have to Impeach Bush.
The Right’s said in less than 8 Days, Someone’s gotta kill that {racial slur}!
Maybe that’s an extremist, but he claims to be on Your side. Obama’s got an eye out for that sentiment in our sediment. I would too.
Now to address the rest of the above post.:
Obama wouldn’t be the first president to ignore intelligence.
McCain was about as maverick as a sunday school meat eater.
Napolitano shouldn’t have up and said that, or it shouldn’t have been leaked, Palosi’s kinda letting down the side as well.
Wiretaps placed in america targetted american citizens as well as those oversees {they weren’t installed in Iraq!}, and the rule of paranoia folks loved saying that those who didn’t like the president would wind up in guantanamo bay. GWB said nothing to deny that.
I’m going by the majority who got Obama into office, and by the sounds of it it sure wasn’t the conservatives, they’re still ????ing and moaning and they’ve got 3 - 7 more years to go, the accusations and conspiracies will soon begin to get boring. 15% Left, might be a bit skewed, but 15% Right, and the rest neutral, but Conservative? Still conservative to me, and that means Right, but not necessarily correct. The majority got the president into office, you might wanna ask 60% of your fellow Conservatives who’s side they’re really on, lol. But thank you for a counterpoint that didn’t involve insults and suppositions, we’ll find some middle ground yet!
Anyways, back to why I originally came here, was to say Heya Joe and look forward ta seeing you and Patti at Spring Fling! {I could use another KGMI tumbler mug, my previous 3 are getting a tad aged, like an uninformed arguement - no longer holds water lol} And the wife is after another tomato plant. We’ll be onhand to protect you guys from the right wing extremists.
April 24th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
Spring Fling was hella fun, a good time to be had by all. Couldn’t find a blog about this so I’m following up lol. About the only negativity encountered was someone driving by with a monosyllabic expletive accompanied by a unidigital salutation out a quickly moving hatchback window. Real class, lol. So, no tumbler mug, but I’ll be wearing my new KGMI 790 AM Tshirt tonight with pride, yes I might be leaning just a little more one way, but I do dig both sides of the story. KGMIx it up.

“Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do” Benjamin Franklin
“Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security” Benjamin Franklin
I don’t agree with the political profiling, but can you imagine what we would be saying if there was another Oklahoma City.
BarnCat said “The right said in 8 days……..” BarnCat you don’t need to make things up to try to prove a point.
The moral of the story is…….
Uncle Sam, stay off my phone line!
If your neighbor is dressing in military fatigues and loading a rental truck with fertilizer, call the Cops.
Don’t hang around with people with hate in their heart.
April 27th, 2009 at 11:56 am
It is sad that we spend so much time putting each other in categories and not as Americans. Yes, there are radicals in every group you want to name but there is so much bias in the media and government it is even seen by kids in school. I know that the taping of phones went on many years back to ensure the security of our country. It just became a big deal during the last administration. What I have seen is that some protestors are extreme and even if I believed in their cause would not join them as they are violent or destructive or show a lasck of respect for others. I joined the Tea Party protestors as it is just too much on the average citizen and is creating fear among those with little or no voice. Both of you make good points and give information to make my own mind up. By the way where were the protestors during the Clinton years? I would have joined them but couldn’t find any against his action overseas. Let’s bring all the troops home from every where and stop sending tax dollars to any coutry and put all our efforts into this country and its citizens and solve our own problems. If you want to support a foreign country you are free to do so with the tax money you will save
April 28th, 2009 at 11:55 am
8 days was figurative, not literal, I didn’t even pay enough attention to really keep track lol, it was just real close to that time span, and even some time before. Stuff gets made up all the time anyway. You’d think what we really need to fear is a President who’s profiling our brave men and women in uniform and right-wingers as terrorists, trying to take all our guns away, conquer us and turn our children gay or us into communists, destroying the statue of liberty, burning the constitution, completely ignoring the bill of rights, raising up taxes unnecessarily based on devious personal interests and fake whacko lefty environmental sciences, when he’s not even really an American Citizen and is really an islamic muslim socialist inexperienced misguided evil dictator who’s rewarding those who’re on welfare deliberately and punishing god-loving honest republican white folks and is at this moment shaking hands and hugging Hitler and Darth Vader while… doing who knows what other things are going to get made up later. We can’t Make Hate Make Sense, but Obama-haters will keep on trying. Only the people who believe all that enough to try to act on it dangerously should warrant some watching.
May 14th, 2009 at 12:18 pm
I agree that all the hate mongers are rampant in this country and makes good press for failing papers but where was the outrage during the last 6 years? The hatred for the last president was shocking to me as I had never heard such violent speech against a sitting president nor was it printed and repeated in all the media. Times right now are tough and we have an administration whose spending rivals none other. This bickering on who hates more is just a distraction from the real problems and what is really going on. Get mad at the politicians and all their spending and pork and elitist benefits over the rest of us. I am so tired of the tirades and no real answers for positive change. Rebellion will come and all will be the reason. Taxation is not the answer. More money in the pockets of the American Citizen is the answer. Less government intrution.
May 23rd, 2009 at 12:56 pm
Like I’m saying, give that bailout money to the American people, let US decide who sinks and who swims not the companies who screwed over their customers and employees to blow it all on bonuses that only the elite of their group will see. I’ll be buying ocal, or at least buying American.
Obama’s enemies are many of the people who were perfectly okay with how things have been going the last 6 years.
May 27th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Just gotta say somewhere, sometime, that I know pretend is fun. Just as long as we do try to remember that in this and other cases the truth is being twisted for political and commentary entertainment motives, and to not wind up seriously actually scared of our own government or unhealthily angered and stressed out by our “reliable sources”, things’ll be just fine.
I just have a hard time being impartial when one side of the debate/s is making so very little sense. Kicking and screaming on the floor, spreading halfwit rumors and generally stooping to pooper scooping isn’t representing the outgoing party too well. If they want to take power back they’re going to have to come up with Country-Productive, not Counterproductive plans and ideas. They’re wasting time namecalling and facesmearing and twisting every breath out of the Obama administration’s mouths. At first it used to be amusing, I expected them to take the change in power poorly, now it’s just amazing. Annoying.
The Repudiatican party can be redeemed, if they do More to Help the American People. Take a cue from the Democratic Party, they listened, acknowledged and {in most cases} are acting upon. From the radio Commentators I hear both sides of the story, the Rights are gossiping and inciting with paranoid fearmongering and distrust, the Lefts are laughing at them in incredulity. Until the Rightwing and the Leftwing can work together we ain’t gonna Fly straight, if we get off the ground at all.
Anyways, just my Freedom Of Rant pent up and venting out here, have a sterling day and let’s get on eachother’s Friends List instead.
June 24th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
I have never heard as much hate towards a President as I did towards President Bush. From Democrats, from the Media and from Hollywood. The few hate from radicals towards President Obama is nothing compared to the last eight years. There are ignorant radicals in both parties with their own agenda and many in both parties who drink the koolade and follow blindly what their leaders say. Now more and more Americans are thinking for themselves and voting intelligently. We can not afford the wild spending and all the Pork any more nor can we afford the corporate welfare and all the money sent to other coutries. We need to also have a leader who shows us how to cut expenses and not waste our tax dollars as this one is continueing to do . We need a strong third party and term limits for all elected officials. Rant all you want and blame who you want but Americans need to take their country back and this is the Tea Party movement and I am so proud to see this in my lifetime.
